Healing in More Detail

Healing is the oldest therapy!  People have been healing since the dawn of time:  any mother comforting her child by putting her hand on the spot that hurts is using the healing energy of love.  Spiritual healing is sometimes thought to have a connection to religion, but this is not the case (although, of course, healers and patients have their own private religious beliefs).  “Spiritual” refers to “spiritus”:  the spirit, life force, vital energy that is in every living thing.  Healing can help you whatever your beliefs or expectations.

Healers have been taught to use the natural ability that we all have in some degree, to connect to the healing energies that are all around us.  The healer then channels this energy to the recipient, who integrates it naturally, easily and with no conscious process into his or her own mental, emotional and physical body.  This “recharging” effect energises on many levels and boosts your own ability to heal your own body on many levels. 

Very deeply relaxing, the healing session begins with a relaxation process.  A light touch on the shoulders signals the beginning and end of the session and a touch on your feet grounds you, but it is not usually necessary to touch you at any other time.

Animals, too, seem to find healing very relaxing.  Horses, for example, will seem to doze, often yawning, licking and chewing – all signs of relaxation and processing in the horse.

Healing can help on many different levels and the effects may be instant or develop over time.  Effects may be physical, emotional or spiritual – or a combination of these.  An effect frequently experienced is the return of calmness and peace of mind.
